Welcome to the 2025 COWS at Meadow Lakes
We've got 58 "brave" golfers set to compete - I, personally am thrilled by the forecast. Some light winds are always present at ML and there is no precipitation in the forecast (everyone should wear raingear though to hold the golf gods at bay).
Another big thank you to Beaver Coach Sales for their generous sponsorship for our season long points race and signature events boosters!
You can find the FIRST DRAFT of pairings in the attached .pdf or at the Tournament homepage here. You will be able to find results here (midday Saturday) as well if you don't want to wait until Monday's Digest e-mail...
Pairings are subject to change if we have any late changes, etc.
2-PLAYER SHAMBLE RULES
Player handicaps are calculated by taking 80% of each player's course handicap. You will both play a drive, select the more strategic ball and both play your own ball into the ball from there. The best score of the 2 will count as your team score (both balls may count for gross and for net). You may lift, clean and place your ball within one clublength no nearer to the hole whilst maintaining the condition of the lie (if you're in the rough, stay in the rough, etc.) after the drive only. You may not lift, clean and place a ball if the drive is in a penalty area, and you must play the ball as it lies after the drive. TWO DRIVES are required each 9 holes for each player.
We'll have Net and Gross team prizes in each OPEN and SENIOR division (if both players are over 60, you will automatically be entered into the Senior division).
I think I have correct tees for everyone, but please check your scorecard at registration and write in if you have any changes (you have the option to play any tee you are eligible for).
OPEN Tees - BLUE - KP on #8
SENIOR Tees - WHITE - KP on #4
LADIES and "Rule of 85" Tees (age plus handicap index) - RED - KP on #17
I will have registration open at 9:15am in the Bar area with scorecards and skins entry ($20/team cash only) available. Please have your entry fees (if you did not already pay online) ready in CASH or CHECK (made out to "COJGA"). If you choose to take a power cart, please check in with the Golf Shop staff to have a cart issued for the day.
Thanks in advance to Zach Lampert, his staff and the city of Prineville for hosting us at their facility!
Spring event registration is open at the portal or links on the "COWS homepage"
